Hello friends!! Today's post is about analyzing of headlines. Here you will find some headlines based on the same breaking new. We will make comparisons between them and give our opinion on which catch our attention.

MALENA:

I have choosen two headlines related to the construction of UAE's (United Arab Emirates) first rail network. These are:

ree

ree

As I have said, both headlines are about UAE's new rail network. The first one is focused on how this construction will affect the economy of UAE and the second one is focused on the work offer that this network will provide. Both send a positive message to the population because they suggest that this construction will favor the UAE in one way or another.

The language that they use is similar, it tries to catch the attention.

From my point of view, is more atractive the second one. It is because It is sending out a message that this construction are going to offer jobs to people who don’t have it. This motivates people to support that rail network. Nowadays is difficult to find a job and if this construction offers jobs, Why wouldn’t people support it?

Here you will find the complete articles:

María:

For this headlines analysis I have read two different newspapers; The New York Times and CNN.

The headlines that I have chosen are:

The New York Times:

A Chilling Question Divides Europe: Open Ski Slopes or Keep Them Closed?

CNN:

Europe's ski resorts are facing the 'season from hell'

Both of them speaks about the problem that the pandemic has generated in the ski resorts. But as we can see they present the notice in two different ways.

The first headline present the current debate from an impartial point of view, while the second presents the notice as a 'season of hell', this gives us more information about the opinion of the workers of the ski resorts.
